Elizabeth Meller, 77, of Colo, Iowa, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Iowa Methodist Medical Center in Des Moines.

Elizabeth was born May 26, 1935 in Reid, Austria, the daughter of Mathias and Elisabeth (Schmidt) Schibinger. She attended school in Austria and came to the United States in 1952. She was united in marriage to Edward Meller on December 14, 1958 in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Elizabeth and Edward lived in Piscataway, NJ for 46 years prior to moving to Colo, Iowa seven years ago. Elizabeth was a member of Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colo, the B.F. and T. Club and volunteered at St. Mary's clothing shares. Elizabeth loved gardening, flowers and her kitties.

Elizabeth is survived by her husband, Edward, of Colo, IA; her son: Robert (Edythe) Meller of Colo, IA; her grandson: Bobby Meller; two brothers: Mathias Schibinger of Gilbertsville, PA, John Schibinger of East Brunswick, NJ; and her sister: Cathy Coffaro of New Brunswick, NJ.

Elizabeth was preceded in death by her parents and a daughter, Linda.

Funeral services will be 11:00 AM Wednesday at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Colo. Interment will be at a later date in Resurrection Cemetery at Piscataway, NJ.

Visitation will be 6:30 – 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Bacon Funeral Home in Nevada, IA.

Memorials may be made to St. Mary's Catholic Church in memory of Elizabeth.
