Edward "Eddie" Paul Hubbard, 82, of Maxwell passed away Thursday, January 26, 2012, at Iowa Lutheran Hospital in Des Moines.

Ed was born April 7, 1929, to Bill and Minah (Meier) Ross and was later adopted by Louis and Ida Hubbard. He graduated from Maxwell High School in 1948, and served in the United States Navy aboard the USS Harry E. Hubbard destroyer during the Korean Conflict. After being discharged from the Navy in 1953, he made his home in San Diego, CA with Clarence and Mabel Link. In 1957, they relocated to the Link family farm in Maxwell. He was a farmer and a member of the American Legion Post #249 in Maxwell as well as the Loring United Methodist Church.

Ed is survived by his brother, James (Clarice) Bulten of Callo, MO; his step-mother, Rosella Ross of Estherville, IA; his half-sister, Arnita Ross of Estherville, IA; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his biological and adoptive parents; two sisters, Lillian Niemants and Beverly Turk; and a half-brother, Arthur Ross.

Per Ed's wishes, he has been cremated and a graveside memorial service will be held at a later date at Center Grove Cemetery in rural Cambridge.

Bacon Funeral Home in Maxwell is handling arrangements.
